People across Bath and North East Somerset are being urged to remain cautious following heavy rainfall in recent days which has caused flooding in some areas.
River levels across the district remain high following the downpours, with bus and train services being disrupted yesterday, Thursday 12th January.
Bath & North East Somerset Council said it had been working hard to clear roads and gullies, and its cleansing team had been out clearing debris where possible.
The council’s emergency planning team had also been helping some residents prepare for any threat of flooding to properties.
The water level along local rivers is expected to continue to rise today.
Residents are being encouraged to log flooding issues using the Fix My Street system or call Council Connect on 01225 39 40 41.
Councillor Manda Rigby, cabinet member with responsibility for Emergency Management: said: “I would like to thank the teams, and our partners, for their swift, pro-active action.
“A flooding of this nature can have significant impact and I am pleased that we are as prepared as we can be in dealing with the volume of rain predicted.”
