Bath care home staff prepare for Tough Mudder fundraising challenge

A team from a Bath care home is preparing to take on a Tough Mudder obstacle course to raise money for activities and trips for residents.

Six members of staff from MHA Stratton House will be joined by relatives for the challenge at the Badminton Estate in South Gloucestershire on 15th August.

The team includes Jake Grant, Louise Gascoigne, Anne Head, Camellia Ebert, Fluer Preedy and John Hunter.

Tough Mudder events feature 5km and 15km obstacle courses designed to test competitors’ strength, stamina and determination.

Money raised by the Stratton House team will go into the home’s amenities fund, which is used to arrange activities and outings for residents.

It will be the fourth time a group from the care home has taken part in the challenge.

MHA Stratton House provides residential care for 33 people.

Louise, who works as an activity coordinator at the home, said: “We are all looking forward to the challenge and are hoping for it to be a success like the years gone by.

“Some of us did it last year so we have some experience of what it was like, and we are hopeful that experience will help on the day.

“The challenge is great for team building, as you do rely on your team members to help you to get through it.

“The group we have are fairly active, some go to the gym, some swim and run, so we are very confident in completing the challenge.

“We have set up a JustGiving page and are confident we can raise some money for our amenities fund.

“We will have support on the day from family and friends as well as some colleagues so it should be a good event.”
