Local resident and guitar teacher Richard Perkins has been treating his Camden neighbours to something a little special as part of the weekly Thursday night Clap for Carers events.
Richard, who runs Bath Guitar School, has been setting up a sound system outside his house to blast a rendition of “Misirlou” by surf guitar legend Dick Dale up and down the streets, much to the delight of his neighbours who have clapped along.
He said: “The NHS are an incredible organisation, never more so than at this time of crisis.
“The clap is a lovely way to say thank you and brings us all together at a time when we are so limited in our social interaction.
“I wanted to do something a bit extra to lift the spirits of my community.”
“I am challenging all my students to learn the main riff from the song and play outside their homes this Thursday 7th May.
“Any other guitarists and musician out there are very welcome to join us!”
