Budding young poets in Bath set to have their work published in new book

A group of budding young poets from across the Bath and North East Somerset area are to have their work published in a new book.

B&NES Youth Connect, asked young people who use the Council’s Youth Hubs to write poetry on issues which affect them.

The resulting anthology gives a big insight into their opinions, fears and aspirations.

Organisers have announced the acclaimed film and television director Ken Loach, whose work focuses on social issues, has written the foreword to the book.

The book “ATTENTION! Poetry by young people from Bath and North East Somerset” will be launched at a special event at the Society Cafe, in Kingsmead Square, Bath on Thursday 15th September 6.30-8pm.

The event is free to attend, and open to all.

Some of the young poets who’ve contributed to the book will perform their work, together with local spoken word poet Rebecca Tantony.

The book will be available to purchase at the event.

The book costs £3 with all proceeds going to Youth Connect.

It can be purchased from ‘Mr B’s Emporium of Reading Delights’  in John Street in Bath, or from the Youth Connect office by contacting: 01225 396980 or [email protected].
