Budding rock stars are being invited to take part in a series of concerts across Bristol and Bath this summer, as part of The Rock Project, which will host four events across the South West.
The concerts will showcase young bands with members aged from just 7 to 18-years-of-age taking to the stage.
And they are looking for even more talented musicians to share the stage with them for a night to remember.
Andy Collins, who runs schools in North Somerset said: “The end of year gigs are a huge highlight for The Rock Project students. These are full-scale rock gigs, and we want to make this year’s the biggest ever.
“The gigs take place in July, so there’s still time for new guitarists, drummers, bass players and singers to join in.”
Students of The Rock Project are taught by gigging musicians, who teach guitar, bass, drums and vocals in weekly sessions across the region.
Each concert includes high-tech lighting and sound equipment fit to create a professional, live gig before packed audiences.
Mike Aris who runs The Rock Project Bath said: “The buzz of the gig is something else, but the whole lead up is a real confidence builder for the students.
“They start by being tutored by a gigging musician, and then each week play as a band with their fellow students. The growth in skills and confidence they show week on week is amazing, so the rock concert takes them to the next level.”
The Rock Project concerts take place on:
- Saturday, 7th July – Bristol City Church, Jamaica Street, Bristol at 2.30pm;
- Saturday, 7th July – Backwell School Theatre, Backwell, Bristol at 2pm and 6.30pm;
- Sunday, 8th July – The Roper Theatre, Bath at 2pm.
