The organisers of Box Rocks, the August bank holiday festival in Box, near Bath will be donating all proceeds to The Forever Friends Appeal, the fundraising charity for the RUH.
The event, which will take place at the Queens Head Inn, in Box will start at 2pm and will rock through to 10:30pm. Tickets can be bought on the gate, it’s just £5 per adult and under 14s go free.
Thanks to the Box Rocks festival, over £30,000 has been donated to the hospital’s charity over the past 15 years.
Claudia Hickin, Senior Community Fundraiser, The Forever Friends Appeal said: “We are so grateful for the continued support from Box Rocks and their generosity has helped fund our major campaigns – fundraising for the new Cancer Centre previously donating to NICU as well as new equipment for wards and departments at the RUH.
“This year, they will be donating the proceeds to our RNHRD & Therapies Campaign.”
The Queens Head Inn has been home to the Box Rocks Festival since 1994. It started as a small gig with a few local bands playing on the Queens Head Inn pub roof.
As its popularity grew, the organisers set up a bigger stage, so there’s a larger viewing area for everyone to enjoy the host of acts that will perform on Monday 27th August.
Last year, six out of the eight bands that played were original artists that are currently promoting new music across the UK.
This year there will be a celebration of the bands who have played over the 25 years accumulating in a School of Rock finale show.
Dean Creighton, Event Organiser said: “We want this year to be a big celebration for all those who have played, volunteered and worked so hard for Box Rocks over the past 25 years.
“At this year’s line-up, you’ll see some familiar faces from the past 25 years plus there’ll be a special reunion, a fabulous UK Country Music artist, Jeannine Barry and hip-hop artists Stay Hungry.”
