Bath resident Rosie While has one of the world’s tastiest jobs, as M&S’ official cheese taster, and the country has her to thank for some of the cheeses on offer at the retailer this Christmas.

Rosie While from Bath is M&S’ Cheese Developer

Rosie While from Bath is M&S’s Cheese Developer, and this Christmas is the brains behind the Tastes of the British Isles Cheese Fondue, and the ‘Perfect Pairing’ cheese and chutney box.

Rosie has been working at M&S for five years and has been in charge of sourcing M&S’s cheese for the last three and a half years.

On an average day, Rosie samples up to 50 cheeses, and to work off all the cheese, Rosie runs six miles a day and is a keen marathon runner.

The 30-year-old cheese guru has travelled the UK and Europe sourcing new cheeses for M&S, munching through as much as one kilo in a single sitting.

Rosie started creating this year’s festive products over a year ago and, this Christmas, M&S has launched its #MyMarksFave campaign to encourage customers to discover their own food and drink favourites.

This year M&S is also celebrating value and more than 100 food products are cheaper than last Christmas, allowing M&S customers to enjoy even more of the festive range, without compromising on fantastic quality.

Rosie said: “Christmas is obviously incredibly busy for us but it’s very exciting to know that families are going to sit down together to eat the cheeses that we’ve selected.

“We plan months and months ahead selecting the best cheeses which will be sold in our stores. In fact – I have already started planning Christmas 2019!

“There has been a huge trend on hot cheese this year and I have created lots of exciting new additions of scrumptious molten cheese products to add to the range.

“This year, my Marks and Spencer’s Favourite has to be my Tastes of the British Isles Cheese Fondue, a perfect twist on the Swiss classic, which I’ll be buying for our Christmas feast this year!

“Additionally, we are continuing to drive the trend on cheese gifting with a new line that goes in a beautiful wooden box called ‘Perfect Pairing’, a selection of speciality cheeses perfect for the cheeseboard paired with four delicious chutneys aiming to give customers a fun and inspirational treat after dinner.”
