The team at Specsavers on Westgate Street have taken on the task of raising awareness and funds for the charity, including decorating the store in MS Awareness Week, multiple dress-down days, an Easter raffle and taking part in a pub quiz.

The team will continue to hold fundraisers in-store, as well as encouraging staff to participate in challenges individually.

All the money raised will help the MS Society to continue funding research and offering support to those affected by the condition.

Store director Phil Lodge said: “Supporting charities has always been important to us.

“We’ve seen a great response from the public so far, so we’d like to say a big thank you to anyone who has donated to our chosen charity.

“We recognise that times are difficult at the moment, so we really appreciate all of the support we’ve been given so far. We’ve got lots more events planned, so keep your eyes peeled.”

The MS Society supports people living with MS, a lifelong condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord.

The charity provides care and resources to help people manage MS and invests in research to learn more about its prevention and treatment.
