Bath MP Wera Hobhouse launches annual Christmas card competition
Bath’s MP Wera Hobhouse has launched her annual Christmas card competition, with schoolchildren across the city invited to get involved.

Ms Hobhouse is inviting pupils to get creative and design a card that captures the spirit of “Festive fun in Bath” – this year’s theme.
The winning entry will be printed and sent as the MP’s official Christmas card.
Budding artists can submit their A4 or A5 designs via email to [email protected] with the subject “Christmas Card Competition” or by post to 31 James Street West, Bath, BA1 2BT, by 15th November.
Ms Hobhouse is encouraging participating artists to include festive well-wishes in their designs such as “Season’s greetings!” or “Happy holidays!”.
Last year, Mollie-George Appleton from Widcombe Junior School won the annual Christmas card competition.
Her winning design captured the festive spirit of the city and was used as the MP’s personal Christmas card for 2023.
Wera Hobhouse said: “Bath is full of hundreds of talented young artists who I know will do a brilliant job of capturing the magic of Christmas in our city.
“As art is one of my biggest passions, I am always inspired by the imagination displayed by the young artists in our community.
“This competition is the perfect opportunity to showcase these skills!
“Bath’s beautiful twinkling lights, its Christmas Market, and the snow dusting our charming streets remind me how lucky we are to call this enchanting city our home.
“I can’t wait to see how our budding young artists bring their favourite bits of Bath to life on the page.”
