The Bath Rotary firework display, which was postponed last week following safety fears due to strong winds, has been rescheduled to take place on Sunday 17th November.

Organisers say tickets for the original event, which was due to take place on Saturday 2nd November, will be valid.

In a statement, they said: “We’re really sorry that we had to cancel last Saturday’s planned display, but the weather and resulting safety concerns left us no option.

“Recognising the importance of the event for the charities we are planning to support, and the fact that the Rec Fireworks are a much-enjoyed Bath community event, we have worked with the various authorities to find an alternative date at short notice.

“We’re pleased to announce we will be holding the re-arranged Community Charity Fireworks Display on Sunday 17th November, at the Rec, starting at 7.00pm, with gates opening from 5.30pm.

“We’d like to thank the Recreation Ground Trust, Bath Rugby, Bath and North-East Somerset Council, and our chief sponsors, Bath Building Society, for all their help in enabling this new date.”

Anyone holding tickets for the original event will be able to use them to attend the new firework display.

Tickets will be going back on sale today, and all money raised will go towards two main local charities:

  • ‘Voices’, a Bath based charity providing support for women who have experienced Domestic Abuse;
  • The Reminiscence Learning ‘ARCHIE’ project, helping bring Bath schoolchildren and Care Home residents together.

Tickets cost £7 per adult (£6 in advance), £4 per child (4 to 16yrs), and will be available from Bath Building Society branches, Bath Box Office, and online via the Rotary Club of Bath website: www.rotary-bath.co.uk.
