Local residents are being encouraged to consider joining Avon Fire & Rescue Service, as the latest search begins for people to join as firefighters, control operators and corporate staff.

Members of the public who are looking for a change, a new opportunity or are at the start of their career, are being told ‘Yes You Can’ as the fire service looks to welcome applications from all walks of life.
Simon Shilton, Assistant Chief Fire Officer for AF&RS, said: “A career in the fire service is exciting, often challenging, always varied and entirely rewarding – no matter what department you join.
“We are looking for honest, ambitious and courageous people who are determined to make a positive difference in their community; who want to be part of an effective and efficient team; and who have the aspirations of becoming a leader of the future.
“Whether you are interested in becoming a firefighter, answering those important 999 calls or supporting the day-to-day running of the Service with your expertise, we’re encouraging you to sign up to our mailing list for more information and to be the first to hear of new opportunities across the Service.
“We’re passionate about ensuring we represent the communities we serve as a Fire & Rescue Service and I would encourage people from all backgrounds to find out more about the roles available and apply.

Residents are being asked to sign up to a mailing list to find out more about the latest opportunities.
Avon Fire & Rescue provides emergency and protection services to the communities of Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
The service covers an area of 134,753 hectares and a population of over one million.
