The American Museum near Bath is inviting local residents to join them in celebrating Independence Day this year, with special events planned over two weekends.
The American Museum’s first weekend of celebrations, 30th June and 1st July, will transport you right back to 1776 in the guise of a living history weekend, and the welcome return of the Crown Forces Association and the Society of King George the Third.
Visitors will be able to marvel at the redcoats and revolutionaries as they display their military might, including loud bangs, and civilian comforts of the late 18th century in America. Normal admission applies.
On Independence Day itself, visit during the day on Wednesday 4th July between 10am and 5pm and you’ll get free entry.

To round off the celebrations the American Museum will have a weekend, 7th – 8th July, of razz-a-mataz including, music, BBQ, fun and American games. Normal admission applies.

“We have three fab red, white and blue events lined up to give you ample opportunity to wear your best stars and shiniest stripes.
“You can also immerse yourself in our fab folk art collection, quilts to die for and look at back at the first great test of the US/UK relationship as we uncover America’s involvement in World War I.”
