The A39 Bath Road at Farmborough, which was closed to all traffic on Saturday 14th June after a house started to collapse, has reopened after the property was secured.

The house has now been shored up

Initially Avon Fire & Rescue Service isolated the gas and electricity and put in cordons.

Traffic diversions were put in place while Bath & North East Somerset Council officers continued to monitor the property.

Wooden boarding has been constructed outside the front of the house

In an update, local councillor Sam Ross said a structure had been implemented as a precautionary measure around the collapsing building.

A high wooden hoarding is also in place.

The road, which will be carrying a lot of traffic to this week’s Glastonbury Festival, reopened after being closed for seven days.
