Part-time students have been given the chance to showcase their work at a City of Bath College Art and Design exhibition.
The ‘Taking Part’ show will be the first time most of the Love2learn students have publically showed their work.
The aim of the community arts exhibition is to give those on Fine and Applied Arts leisure courses the chance to show and sell their work in a professional gallery.
The three-day exhibition at the 44AD Gallery will feature an impressive variety of printmaking, photography, fashion, millinery, ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing, glass and jewellery.
It opens at 10am on Friday, December 13th and continues all weekend.
The College’s Art and Design Department has always exhibited the work of full time students at the end of year shows, but this exhibition celebrates the high quality of work produced by part-time students for the first time.
The Art and Design Department at City of Bath College continues to increase its wide-ranging and outstanding offer of specialist part time courses for adults.
Head of Art Dave Merriman said: “This is an exciting time for us; in recent years we have expanded our part time courses to encompass a broad variety of subjects.
“From January we are collaborating with more specialist staff who will be offering new courses in upholstery, interior design, papermaking and sculpting in metal in addition to our already well-established courses.
“We want to give opportunities for everyone in our local area to participate in and develop skills in Art and Design subjects”.
The exhibition at the 44AD Gallery, Lower Borough Walls, Bath, is open from 10am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 11am to 4 pm on Sunday.
