For the first time ever, a church in Peasedown St John has released details of six children’s holiday clubs all taking place over the next 12 months.
St John’s Church, which has a dedicated team of children’s workers, has been overwhelmed with demand for regular holiday clubs due to their popularity with children in the community.
During the upcoming October half-term two days have been set aside for games, craft, activities and some crazy challenges.
SJs Goes Crazy will feature the very best entertainment for primary school aged children on both Thursday 30th and Friday 31st October.
Rob Bubyer, the children’s pastor at St John’s Church is hosting the event.
He said: ‘Our church holiday clubs for children have become so popular that we’ve decided to host six a year, instead of the two or three we’ve put on in previous years.
“St John’s has a growing children’s ministry that is doing more and more each week to engage and enthuse young people in our village.”
High demand has meant that 70 children have already registered for the two-day extravaganza – the maximum number permitted.
There are still a few places available on the Friday.
Rob is encouraging parents and carers to visit the website for up to date information on whether spaces are available: www.stjsgroup.church/holidayclubs.
Revd Matthew Street added: “These children’s holiday clubs are in addition to work we’re doing across the community.
“At St John’s church, which is part of the wider St J’s Group of Anglican churches, we run regular school assemblies, after-school clubs, breakfast clubs, seasonal holiday clubs, and four children’s groups every Sunday.
“We also hold our Sunday afternoon worship meetings at Peasedown Youth and Children’s Centre.
“And, later in the year we’ll be launching our new Sanctuary project – a special place for children and their families to visit.”
SJ Goes Crazy runs from 9 am – 3 pm on Thursday 30th and Friday 31st October, and is open to children aged 5-11 in school years 1-6 (from September 2014).
