A team of cycling enthusiasts from Withy King is preparing to cycle from their offices in central Bath to Paris to raise money for charity.
The team of 14 from Withy King’s two offices, on Midland Bridge and Queen Square, comprises Abi Sutcliffe, partner Chris Kane, Claire Fennell, Dave Eagle, David Willcox, Ed Vidnes, managing partner Graham Street, Ali Cloak, partner Jessica Bent, Laura Podger, Lydia Excell, Mark Hambleton, Nicola Cutler, Paul Field and Robert Webb.
They will be joined by colleagues from Withy King’s Swindon and Oxford offices, bringing the total number taking part to 21.
The 200 mile Bath to Paris cycle ride, which is taking place from 14th to 16th April, is one of several sporting events planned by Withy King to raise money for Dorothy House Hospice – the Bath offices’ chosen charity for the next two years.
Nicola Cutler, a solicitor in the corporate dispute resolution team at Withy King who is taking part in the cycle ride, explained: “Every two years, the staff and partners in each of our principal office locations vote for a local charity to support over a 24 month period.
“This gives us an opportunity to make a real difference, both in terms of the amount of money we are able to raise as well as the introductions we can make and other practical support we can offer.
“All our major fund-raising efforts this year and next will be in aid of Dorothy House, a charity which plays such an important role in the lives of so many people.”
She continued: “Some of us will be putting our fitness levels to the test later this month when we take part in the Bath Half Marathon.
“I’m one of a team of 11 from Withy King to have signed up for the run so hopefully this will help our training for the Bath to Paris cycle ride while raising additional funds for Dorothy House.”
Henrietta Beard, Corporate and Major Donor Fundraiser from Dorothy House Hospice Care, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the incredible support by the team at Withy King, especially during this, our 40th birthday year.
“The team spirit is tangible and their not inconsiderable efforts to help raise much needed funds for us is very much appreciated.”
Dorothy House delivers care to people with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers across Bath and parts of Somerset and Wiltshire in an area which covers 700 square miles and a community of 550,000 people.
