An 18-year-old from Twerton has been sentenced for offences including carrying a flick knife and possessing cannabis.

An order banning Karell Scott’s identity from being revealed had been made at a hearing at Bath Magistrates’ Court in November under Section 49 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 when he had admitted committing four offences when aged 17.
But that order was revoked when Scott came before District Judge Lynne Matthews at the courthouse on Wednesday 17th December.
Scott, of Woodhouse Road, turned 18 at the end of October.
He had pleaded guilty to possessing 1.2 grams of cannabis on 14th March in Twerton and that on 9th August at Bath had 0.4 grams of the drug in his possession.
He also admitted that on 9th August he had with him in Bath, without good reason, a knife, and that he had behaved in a threatening or abusive way likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Magistrates had remanded Scott on unconditional bail for an ‘all options’ pre-sentence report to be prepared.
After reading it, District Judge Matthews imposed a community order with a 12-month mental health treatment requirement and alcohol abstinence and monitoring for 120 days.
Scott will be deprived of the flick knife, and an order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the cannabis too.
The judge fined Scott £100 for the public order offence and also ordered him to pay £85 prosecution costs and £114 court surcharge.
