Bath’s small business owners are being offered free advice on completing their tax returns as part of a series of autumn workshops run by the business growth consultancy Cool Ventures.
A half-day workshop, titled Self Assessment – How To Complete Your Tax Return Online And On Time, is being held at the Bath and County Club on 29th November.
The session, which is free for businesses that enrol on the Bath Business Support Programme, is for those who need help with submitting a self assessment tax return by 31st January and want to know what costs they can claim.
It is one of a number of workshops being held this autumn by Cool Ventures, which delivers the Bath Business Support Programme.
The scheme provides free advice to small businesses and access to workshops on topics including business planning, finance, marketing and management.
The self assessment workshop is being presented by tax expert Sam Gooding from the accountancy firm Gooding Accounts.
Cool Ventures director Sue Marchant said: “Every year thousands of people fail to submit their self-assessment tax returns and suffer thousands of pounds in fines.
“Likewise people continue to miss out on tax savings by not making perfectly allowable claims against their income.
“We are keen to support small businesses as much as possible to make sure that they don’t suffer additional costs or stress.”
