A Manchester-based digital collective has announced the acquisition of Bath’s Insight Analysis, a sports analytics company offering data analysis to help elite athletes improve their performance.

The move adds to Inc & Co’s growing network of sports services, which includes Skylab, a digital sports agency acquired in May, and marks the third recent acquisition for the company, following the addition of data specialists MyLife Digital earlier in the week.

The collective, which launched in July 2019 to help digital businesses prosper, recorded a £10 million turnover in its first 12 months and now taking the total number of digital businesses at Inc & Co from six to nine and doubling its talent count to 250.

Insight Analysis, which is based in Bath and employs around 60 people, works with clients including Bath Rugby, English Institute of Sport and British Ski and Snowboard.

Jack Mason, Group CEO of Inc & Co, said: “Bringing Insight Analysis into the Inc & Co collective means that we can continue to offer a world-leading sports service package to customers like the LTA, The FA, The RFU, and British Sailing.

“I am particularly excited to see the synergy between Insight Analysis and our recently acquired digital sports agency Skylab, as they both possess specialist skillsets in sports.”

Mike Hughes, Director of Insight Analysis added: “We are incredibly excited by the new ownership.

“The support of Inc & Co and the opportunity to learn from other like-minded digital businesses is only going to enhance our offering to our elite sport clients.”

Jack Mason concluded: “We know that the leading digital platforms will become increasingly involved in sport, and the growth of the sector has accelerated in a turbulent 2020.

“Now is the time when sport’s governing bodies, leagues and clubs are analysing how to navigate their way through the crisis brought about by the coronavirus pandemic and are recognising the growing importance of data.”
