Litter pickers from SouthGate Bath recently joined the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean as part of efforts to help keep the city centre tidy.

A team of 12 volunteers from the shopping centre joined forces to carry out three separate community litter picks, where they took on different areas in the city centre including the canal towpath and behind the vaults.

In a team effort, members collected around 60kg of mixed waste and bottles across the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean fortnight.

Guy Henderson, Centre Director at SouthGate Bath, said: “We’re really proud to have participated in this year’s Great British Spring Clean, joining thousands of people across the UK to clear litter from our streets, parks and benches.

“It’s been great to help tidy up our local area and to give back to our local community in Bath.”

The annual Great British Spring Clean campaign, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, brings the public, organisations and businesses together to clear up litter in towns, villages and the countryside.
