A number of shared ownership houses will soon be released at the brand new Sulis Down development in Bath, managed by housing association Bromford.

The mixed tenure development is being built by Countryside and is located on Combe Hay Lane.

Sulis Down is Bromford’s first development in the city and forms part of the company’s growth plans.

Bromford’s shared ownership homes will consist of two and three-bedroom properties, which are suitable for first-time buyers, growing families and downsizers looking to make the move to a more manageable home.

Shared ownership gives first-time buyers and those who do not currently own a property the chance to secure a new build home.

Homebuyers pay a mortgage on the share they own and pay rent on the remaining share, meaning a smaller deposit is required.

Catherine Jarrett, Director of Sales and Marketing at Bromford, said: “We are very excited to soon be unveiling our brand-new Shared Ownership homes, and to be offering Somerset buyers with an affordable solution to getting onto the property ladder.

“Sulis Down is our first development in Bath, and we’re very proud to be beginning our investment in the area and reaching out to new communities.

“The development will consist of a stunning collection of stone-built homes, making it a truly aspirational place to call home.”

Priority for the shared ownership scheme will be given to those who have a connection to Bath and North East Somerset.

The local area connection is based on buyers having been a resident or employed within the area for two to five years or having family connections who have lived in the area for more than three years.
