A Bath self-storage centre, which has just secured planning permission for a big refurbishment, is now applying to open on Sundays.

Safestore, based at Bellotts House at Bellotts Road in Twerton, wants to extend opening hours to include Sundays to “meet their operational requirements and the latest customer trends associated with a self-storage facility”.

However, contradictory times for the proposed Sunday opening are given, with both 11am to 4pm and 10am to 4pm mentioned in the application on Bath & North East Somerset Council’s planning portal.

The current opening hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

On 16th January Safestore was granted permission to update the facility although the size of the building is not changing.

There will be a bigger reception area and more storage on the first floor in former office space, along with new glazing and signs.

The works also include a new bi-fold gate, pedestrian access gate and 2.4-metre-high fencing.

There will be an extra loading bay and 12 car parking spaces will be formally laid out, two with EV charging and one disabled compliant.

The planning reference for the change of opening hours is 25/00236/VAR. The deadline for comments is 12th February.
