Residents of Bath should prepare themselves for a new flavour in town, as the highly anticipated new wine business Le Vignoble is due to open later in the month.

A soft launch will start on Saturday 24th March with an official grand opening event on Tuesday 27th March.

Having previously won several awards for the Plymouth outlet including ‘Harpers Top Merchant of the Year 2014’ and ‘Drinks Retailing Awards Independent Wine Retailer of the Year 2016’, owner Yannick Loué has proved his revolutionary lounge, retail & education concept is a hit.

Alongside an extensive range of bottles to take away, visitors to the new outlet can expect 32 different wines available by the taster and glass from 8 Enomatic Elite machines.

Using state-of-the-art inert gas preservation, Enomatic prevents wine from being altered by oxygen and protects its organoleptic integrity (taste, aroma, body, and colour) whilst serving at the optimum temperature.

The Le Vignoble philosophy is to provide wines with a good balance between quality and price, focusing on small producers and unusual wines – all with real people and a real story behind them.

The selection planned for Bath is made up of a mixture of varieties, from the classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc to the famous Bordeaux Lafite Rothschild. Yannick and his team import most of their wines directly from the vineyards and winemakers where they have been produced, which reduces the environmental impact and ensures the best possible prices can be passed on to customers.

Vineyards include one of the top estates in the Languedoc, Chateau Puech-Haut, who have gained top scores from Robert Parker and raving reviews from Jancis Robinson, and also Bodegas Paco Garcia, a Spanish innovation research development project set up to produce modern, fruity & flavoursome wines to please today’s youth.

Manager of the new store, Mégane Petinay, has a degree in wine business alongside a WSET Level 3 qualification and 5 years experience working in the Plymouth outlet.

Born & bred in Reims, France, Mégane has extensive wine & food knowledge and will soon prove to be Bath’s Champagne expert.

Assistant Manager Michael Altur also has a WSET Level 3 qualification, alongside a number of years experience working as a sommelier since moving to Bath from his hometown of Chartres, France several years ago.

Mégane and Michael are looking forward to opening the doors to offer expert advice on their wine selection, alongside a relaxed and welcoming lounge for visitors to sit back and enjoy the wines and tapas platters on offer.
