The popular Leighton Townhouse B&B in Bath has been sold within days of being put on the market, thanks to specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

Experienced hoteliers, Michael and Sarah Jones of Bath Boutique Ltd recently carried out a relaunch of Leighton Townhouse, including an extensive upgrade programme, rebranding, a remodelled website and new booking system.

Two years down the line and after successfully establishing the new business, Michael and Sarah have made the decision to exit the business to pursue other interests.

Christie & Co was instructed to carry out an open market advertising campaign for the substantial detached 10 en suite bedroom boutique bed & breakfast.

The campaign resulted in multiple offers within days of launching to the market and a sale agreed to Mrs Kinyi Law of Double Fortune Enterprises Limited, who plans to further invest in the property.

Mrs Kinyi Law, based in Hong Kong, purchased the Highway House Bed & Breakfast in Bath last year, which is located down the road from the Leighton Townhouse.

Previous owner, Michael Jones said: “We have really enjoyed owning, upgrading and relaunching Leighton Townhouse and are delighted be able to pass it on in robust health to the new owners as we move on to our next venture.”

Matthew Smith, Director at Christie & Co’s Bristol office commented: “We are thrilled to announce the sale of Leighton Townhouse. Christie & Co has had a longstanding relationship with this business, having previously sold it to Michael and Sarah Jones.

“The buyer pool for Bath continues to expand not only from within the UK, but also from interest overseas with strong demand from Asian investors keen to take advantage of our weak pound and low interest rates, with a desire to acquire proven robust profitable assets, alongside a clear understanding of how to further enhance the trading performance of the business.”

The Leighton Townhouse was sold off a guide price of £1,950,000.
