The owner of a Bath property which operated as a holiday let for 10 years without permission has now submitted a planning application to turn it into a house in multiple occupation (HMO).

Dorset Villa on Newbridge Road in Bath
After losing his planning appeal in September against an enforcement notice issued by Bath & North East Somerset Council, Michael Newby-Vincent was given three months to cease the unauthorised use of nine-bed Dorset Villa at 14 Newbridge Road.
It has been a popular venue for hen parties of up to 24 people.
The inspector said in his findings: “Overall, a holiday rental of this size and type seems wholly unsuited to a semi-detached dwelling in such close proximity to the neighbouring dwelling house and I have no doubt that the use has had a significant impact on neighbouring amenity.”
Michael Newby-Vincent says he wants the property, which has two parking spaces, to be in use as a HMO in January.
The plans show there will be six bedrooms and shared facilities.
The planning reference is 25/04089/FUL. The deadline for comments is 17th January.
