Plans to turn a publisher’s offices in Walcot into apartments have been approved by Bath & North East Somerset Council.

The two first-floor offices at Piccadilly House at Piccadilly Place will be converted to a one-bed flat and one with two bedrooms.

Achieve Awesome Ltd’s application said the conversion has been carefully designed to respect the architectural and historical significance of the Grade II listed building which dates from the 18th century and has shops on the ground floor.

The new apartments will increase the total number of flats in the building to eight, all sharing the same access.

The office space was constructed in the 1970s/1980s.

The application includes removing the asbestos lean-to roof covering and roof window and replacing it with new concrete tiles and roof windows, as well as replacing timber windows.
