The Bird on Pulteney Road in Bath has launched its latest pop-up for the summer season, The Nook Garden, offering a relaxed spot for sipping on cocktails and socialising with friends and family.

Open to all throughout the summer, the south-facing garden is full of flamboyant touches, from creative planting to life-size sculptures and bright Balinese parasols, and has plenty of seating from which to enjoy some of the city’s best views out over The Rec and Bath Abbey beyond.

The perfect relaxed spot for fun in the sun, you can sip on summer cocktails from Peach Daiquiris to Pimm’s and there’s plenty of fine wines from pale Provençal rosé to easy-drinking Pinot Noir, local draught and bottled beer and cider and soft drinks.

Food is served on Friday evenings from 5-9pm and all-day Saturday, from 12-9pm, and covers crowd-pleasing favourites such as sourdough pizzas, vibrant summer salads, sweet treats such as Eton Mess and Marshfield ice-creams and plenty of snacks.

The Nook garden is also available for private hire for those looking for a vibrant venue with a great summer party feel for hosting seasonal get-togethers, celebrations or work barbecues.

“We wanted to create an exciting alfresco venue for locals and visitors alike this summer,” said The Bird’s owner Ian Taylor.

“After the success of the beach last year, we wanted to put a new spin on the space for 2019, and the idea of a visually enticing garden to appeal to groups of friends, families, private parties and hotel residents alike, immediately came to mind as a fun and accessible way to make the most of our south-facing terrace with its incredible views.”

The Nook Garden is open to all until 29th September, with drinks available Monday-Sunday, food on Friday and Saturday, and cocktails served at weekends.
