The new M&S Foodhall in Bath officially opened its doors to customers yesterday, Wednesday 15th June, offering locals the chance to experience the retailer’s innovative, high quality food and drink.

Store Manager Stacey Williams was joined by Tim Warren, Leader of the Council, and The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Bath, Paul Crossley, to welcome customers into the store for the first time.

Leading the team’s celebration was long-serving member of staff Pete Wright, who has worked for the retailer for 24 years, and Kristina Kovsaite, the Foodhall hospitality manager.

Customers throughout the day were invited to see the brand new Foodhall and enjoy a hot drink from the store’s Coffee to Go service, alongside a sweet treat from the bakery,

The 8,500 sq. ft. Foodhall will offer customers the very best of M&S’s innovative, high quality food and drink, with more than 6,500 products available.

Highlights include the tantalizing Spirit of Summer range which celebrates taste trends from across the Americas, a Bakery providing a host of speciality breads, pastries and cakes freshly baked in-store each day, seasonal fruit & vegetables and customers favourite M&S convenience deals such as Dine In for 2 for £10.

Store manager, Stacey Williams, commented: “We are thrilled to have officially opened the doors to our new Bath Foodhall.

“Not only has the store been greatly anticipated by our customers but it has created 45 new jobs for local people, so we’re excited to be part of the community.

“It’s been a real pleasure to show everyone around the store for the first time today and to see how much they are enjoying all of the different food and drink ranges.

“We’ve of course got lots of traditional favourites but it’s our vibrant new range, Spirit of Summer, which is really capturing people’s attention – especially the innovative flavour twists we’ve got coming through in our picnic and BBQ ranges.”

Local resident Danielle Stevenson was one of the first customers in the store. She said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have a brand new M&S on my doorstep where I’m able park outside for free and shop as much as I like, it can be a struggle doing a food shop and having to walk home with lots of bags. I love the selection of varied and high quality food available too!”

M&S Foodhall Bath, located at Weston Lock Retail Park on the Lower Bristol Road will be open Monday – Saturday from 8am to 8pm and 10.30am – 4.30pm on Sundays.
