This month will see the launch of Bath Bike Tours, a new venture set to provide a programme of bicycle tours across the city of Bath and surrounding areas.

With summertime soon upon us, what better way to take in the fresh air, sup up the atmosphere and discover the hidden gems of one of the most beautiful Georgian cities in the country.

In contrast to the many walking tours available, Bath Bike Tours covers more of the river and canal offering tourists a unique outdoors experience.

The company, which officially takes to the streets on 10th March has been set up by Anthony Dean, a long term cycling enthusiast, who’s had success setting up Cambridge Bike Tours back in 2010.

Half of Anthony’s family come from Bath so it seemed like a natural progression to take his knowledge of the Bike Tours industry to another city that he loves.

Anthony has teamed up with Becci Sutton, a Bath local, semi competitive cyclist and tour guide to make Bath Bike Tours a success.

Becci together with, a group of other Bath locals that share the love of cycling, passion for history and meeting people from all over the world, make up the guides whose knowledge is second to none.

“The tours are all about having fun, discovering and enjoying this wonderful Georgian city,” Anthony said.

He is also keen to point out that all tours are most definitely at a leisurely pace and to be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Bath Bike Tours will run a programme of different tours, operating every day of the week except Tuesdays.

The morning City Tour covers the major sights of the city including the Royal Crescent, Botanic Gardens, Holburne Museum, Canal, Abbey and Roman Baths.

Expected to be particularly popular is the company’s afternoon Countryside Tour, ideal for those wishing to explore Bath’s beautiful surrounding countryside and a fascinating railway museum.

There’s even time to enjoy a cream tea and a visit to a couple of the great British pubs on the river.

To get the best of both worlds Bath Bike Tours have included a 5 hour Full-Day Tour which combines the City Tour and Countryside Tour in a gentle 10 mile ride.

All tours cost £25 except the Full Day Tour at £40 and includes bike hire along with helmets.

Discounts are available for students, families and groups.

To find out more about Bath Bike Tours or to book a tour, visit the company’s website at www.bathbiketours.co.uk.
