Moorfields Post Office set to reopen in ‘new location’ thanks to retailer

The Post Office says it has a retailer interested in reopening the branch in the Oldfield Park area of Bath.

Morrisons in Moorland Road and the in-store Moorfields Post Office branch closed in April 2025.

The Post Office launched a search for a new retail partner.

With the community still missing a Post Office more than a year on, the old Morrisons store is set to become a 10+One Store, and a poster has been displayed in the window by local campaigners who would like to see the branch reopen there.

The Echo this week contacted the Post Office press office to see if that would be a possibility, and a spokesperson told us: “We know how important a Post Office is to a community.

“The vacancy has previously been advertised, and we have an interested retailer.

“We are progressing with that applicant. This is at a new location.”

The name of that retailer has not been revealed.

The current nearest Post Office branches to Oldfield Park include the one at Southdown Road and Twerton on Avon.
