Local law firm Mogers Drewett has announced a new partnership with insurer and financial planning adviser Lloyd & Whyte, offering bespoke legal services to the company’s clients at discounted rates.

David Hill, partner at Mogers Drewett

Lloyd & Whyte, based in Taunton, offers insurance and financial planning advice to healthcare professionals of all kinds, from dentists and optometrists to chiropractors and vets, as well as insurance for the owners of heritage properties and those with specialist interests ranging from amateur dramatics to classic cars.

Lawyers from Mogers Drewett’s Private Client team will be available to offer legal advice to Lloyd & Whyte clients around a range of issues, including:

  • Wills – an essential part of inheritance planning, in particular for people with valuable assets.
  • Lasting Power of Attorney – should an accident or illness prevent someone from carrying out their wishes, they can choose up to four people they trust to make important decisions for them.
  • Trusts – the setting up of a trust can safeguard assets and capital, for example in the form of a trust for children where assets will be managed by trustees on the children’s behalf until they are old enough to do so themselves.

In addition, Mogers Drewett will offer Lloyd and Whyte clients LPA health checks, which will review any arrangement they already have in place to ensure they are still appropriate and valid.

As part of a package deal, where a Lloyd & Whyte client takes two or more services from Mogers Drewett, they will be entitled to an exclusive 10% discount on fees.

David Hill, Partner and Head of Private Client at Mogers Drewett, said: “We are delighted to enter into this partnership with Lloyd & Whyte. Their clients have very particular needs given their professional and personal profiles.

“Our service is always geared to understanding people as individuals and tailoring our advice to their specific needs, so we feel that there is a great fit. We look forward to bringing advice and guidance to Lloyd & Whyte clients.”

Matthew Pyke, CEO of Lloyd & Whyte added: “We are very excited about the benefits that this will bring to our clients.

“Mogers Drewett have a team of solicitors who add a thoughtful touch to their legal expertise and like to get to know their clients, which matches our own ethos. We’re confident it will be a successful and value-adding partnership.”
