Multi-award winning accountancy firm Milsted Langdon is celebrating after its Forensic Partner Roger Isaacs won a prestigious accolade, beating strong competition from professional peers.
Lawyer Monthly announced Roger Isaacs’ award as Accountants’ Expert Witness of the Year 2016 on 29th March.
The judging panel of professional experts evaluated exceptional quantities of excellent entries, but was convinced the quality of Roger Isaacs’ nomination – based on a twelve point list of stringent and testing criteria – exceeded all other entrants’ and crowned him accordingly.
Roger Isaacs’ general and expert services have assisted many Milsted Langdon clients in a wide range of legal spheres including matrimonial disputes, fraud and insolvency.
In his forensic accountancy capacity he has given evidence at, and prepared reports for, all types of civil and criminal proceedings as an expert and expert advisor.
Roger Isaacs has been a visiting university lecturer in forensic studies at the Cranfield Defence Academy, lecturer to solicitors, writes regularly on forensic accountancy matters and is widely published in professional periodicals.
He has also advised the BBC as a forensic accountant on behalf of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
In 2010, Roger was one of the first accountants in the UK to be accredited as a forensic accountant and expert witness by the ICAEW.
He is the national technical director of the Network of Independent Forensic Accountants; Vice Chair of the ICAEW Forensic Group; a member of the Expert Witness Institute and is accredited to give expert determinations by the Academy of Experts, of which he is a member.
Roger Isaacs is now set to take his unique forensic accountancy skills further afield by establishing a global forensic group within MGI Worldwide, of which he is Vice Chair, to improve determination of international and cross-border matters.
Commenting on the award, Roger Isaacs said: “I am very proud to have won this inaugural accolade and would like to thank all those who voted for me and the many loyal instructing solicitors and counsel on whose support my practice relies.
“I am acutely aware that, as an expert witness, one is only as good as one’s last case and there is no room for complacency.”
The Lawyer Monthly Expert Witness Awards recognise experts, expert advisors and shadow advisors with superior knowledge and experience within their field and a proven record of excellence in assisting legal advisors in understanding complex issues in their decision making processes.
This latest honour adds to a tranche of recent awards Milsted Langdon has received, including ‘Independent Firm of the Year – South West’ at the British Accountancy Awards 2014.
Milsted Langdon is three times winner of UK’s Best Large Practice in the Accounting/WEB Practice Excellence Awards.
The firm is also shortlisted for Tolley’s Taxation Awards 2016 Tax Practice in a Regional Firm category.
