Local property developer Kersfield has completed its development at Bath’s Westgate Buildings, in a move that will bring 17 new luxury holiday apartments to the city centre.

The former commercial premises at 4-5 Westgate Buildings has been transformed by Kersfield into a combination of studio and one-bedroom apartments, arranged over three floors.

Every property is finished to high standards of quality and attention to detail, expected of a Kersfield development, with built-in bespoke media units to selected apartments and an air of contemporary luxury throughout.

The development was sold off-plan by Savills to the Charities Property Fund, represented by Savills Investment Management.

The Fund, which already has a significant investment within Westgate Buildings, has acquired the long-leasehold interest of the 17 apartments, which have the benefit of a ten-year lease to Hiding Space – a short-term let and holiday rental operator.

“Having initially managed the sale of the site to Kersfield for development, I’m delighted to have witnessed its transformation from obsolete office space to boutique rental accommodation,” said Ben Taylor, Development and Valuation Director at Savills.

“The finished accommodation looks fantastic and I would expect Hiding Space to experience high demand for these properties.”

David Newton, Chief Executive at Kersfield, added: “Within such easy reach of Bath’s restaurants, bars, shopping, theatre and cinemas, the apartments are in an ideal location.

“We’re excited that the addition of these properties to the city centre will encourage more visitors to Bath, with all the benefits that brings to the local economy.”
