Bath law firm Stone King is supporting a Government scheme that will see separating parents being able to claim up to £500 off the cost of mediation.

Under the scheme, contributions of up to £500 per family will be provided by the Ministry of Justice to resolve issues relating to children following parental separation.

Family mediation is a process by which an independent, professionally trained mediator helps parents work out arrangements for children and finances following separation.

Caroline Fell, a family mediator from Stone King has welcomed the introduction of the scheme.

She said: “This investment in mediation will help separated families agree solutions that are best for their children, ensuring that mediation is accessible to all and therefore helping families to resolve issues for themselves, without having to go to court.”

Mediation can also be helpful when previous child arrangements need to change, particularly as children grow up.

For more information on the scheme, you can contact Stone King via 0800 111 4336.
