A law firm in Bath has donated £10,000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) appeal in aid of Ukraine, following the recent invasion by Russia.

The donation comes from Stone King’s charitable arm, the Stone King Foundation, to help the millions of people being displaced by the crisis in the country.

Managing Partner Steven Greenwood said: “We feel that this is a really effective way of giving to large organisations that already have a presence on the ground and who can support those fleeing Ukraine.

“We have all been moved by the terrible events taking place and want to support this worthwhile appeal in an effective way as possible.

“We urge fellow businesses to do the same and note that our Government has matched donations up to £25m.”

Stone King is headquartered in Bath, with other offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Leeds and London.

The DEC’s humanitarian appeal for Ukraine brings together 15 UK aid agencies, including Oxfam, Save the Children UK, Age International, British Red Cross, Cafod, Christian Aid and Islamic Relief.

The DEC appeal has already reached more than £100million in donations, with the UN saying up to 4 million people may be forced to leave the country.

Those wanting to donate to the DEC appeal can find out more here.
