A new Dulux Decorator Centre in Bath will officially open to painters, decorators and DIY enthusiasts with a special launch event featuring a guest appearance by the iconic Dulux dog.
Members of the local community are being invited to the store’s opening event on Wednesday 6th June at 10am, where they will have the opportunity to meet and have a selfie with the famous Dulux mascot who has been synonymous with the brand since he first appeared in advertising campaigns in 1961.
His breed is now so closely identified with the brand that many people refer to Old English Sheepdogs as simply ‘Dulux dogs’.
Guy Butterworth, Operations Director of Dulux Decorator Centre, will oversee a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the store at The Maltings Industrial Park, which has created a number of new jobs in the local area.
The Bath community is also invited to attend an exclusive opening breakfast event from 7am on the same day. Attendees will receive a free bacon roll and the opportunity to look around the new store, meet the manager and speak with the store team.
The first 30 customers through the door on the day will receive a free goody bag including a T-Shirt, paintbrush, water bottle, paint can opener and more, and visitors will be able to collect double Nectar points on all purchases.
Affirming its commitment to the local community, Dulux Decorator Centre has invited representatives from the Genesis Trust, a Bath-based charity that provides support to homeless and vulnerable people, to the official opening event to receive a donation of paints and accessories to help give its facilities a makeover.
Jon Pound, Store Manager at Dulux Decorator Centre Bath, commented: “We’re looking forward to meeting members of the Bath painting and decorating community at our official store launch event on 6th June.
“We’re especially pleased to be hosting the Genesis Trust at the opening – they do some fantastic work in the local area and we’re proud to be supporting such a worthwhile cause.
“Our in-store offering has been designed to make life easier for painters, decorators and DIY enthusiasts, and our team is always on-hand to give expert advice on decorating projects of any size.”
The Dulux Decorator Centre joins a network of over 190 stores across the UK and will occupy unit 3 at The Maltings Industrial Park in Bath.
As well as offering the core Dulux range, the Dulux Decorator Centre will stock a wide range of specialist products and accessories.
