An award-winning frozen food company, COOK, is set to open a new shop in the Bear Flat area of Bath next month.
The store, which will be the company’s first one since the start of the pandemic, will continue its commitment to what it calls “community retail”.
As well as walk-in retail, the shop will act as a hub for COOK’s local delivery business, serving the city of Bath and surrounding villages.
In the past year, COOK has seen online retail sales grow to 60% from less than 20% before the pandemic, and has launched local delivery from all of its 88 shops nationwide.
COOK co-founder and co-CEO, Ed Perry said: “We believe great communities need great shops. We’re truly excited to be opening a shop in Bath, where we’ve wanted to be for ages.
“There’s no question our high streets are being reinvented out of necessity and we believe COOK shops will continue to have a bright future as brand outposts and beacons of kindness and connection in the communities we serve.”
Rosie Brown, co-CEO alongside Perry, added: “The opportunities for genuine community shops that bring a differentiated product and service have never been better.
“Matching our remarkable in-store hospitality with friendly doorstep delivery direct from the shop means we can offer customers the best of all worlds: the joy of shopping locally and being treated like a friend; a slick ecommerce experience; and personal home delivery that makes a connection on the doorstep.”
