Businesses across Frome and the surrounding area have come together to establish Frome Business Park, in a bid to improve the amount of office space available in the community.
Frome is acknowledged as one of the best places to live in the UK and has an amazing community of talented people, yet is severely lacking in office space.
To help resolve this problem, the Directors of DNA Worldwide Group and other Frome businesses have established Frome Business Park.
The facility is an exceptionally high quality community focused project situated at the former Tool & Gauge building on Marston Trading Estate.
The building will act as a collaborative technology hub for the South West – offering office spaces to lease, high spec meeting rooms, wellbeing facilities and a café.
With space for an initial 250 people to work, the park is set to generate an overall increase of 625 jobs within Frome providing a £15.6m economic gain per year and over £6.5m of local annual economic benefit.
“Having run a Frome-based business for nearly 15 years we struggled to find modern office space,” said Frome Business Park Director David Nicholson.
“Talking to other businesses it was clear we weren’t alone. Like many other companies, we didn’t want to leave Frome as we grew so we saw the opportunity to develop something different for businesses, working together with each company to support each other’s rapid growth”
Frome Business Park is offering tailor made spaces for businesses that get in early, allowing them to work with the designers to custom build the space they are looking for.
The park will provide a handful of small offices however the focus is for those businesses looking for a six-person office upwards.
As only a quarter of those who live in Frome also work in the town, the park offers an incredible opportunity to change that trend, generate more local jobs and keep the community of Frome thriving.
“The park will transform business and community within Frome, offering a space that truly supports people in business,” said Frome Business Park Director Hannah Modern.
“The area is already thriving in many aspects such as the Frome Independent Market, and this building aims to deliver an opportunity for additional growth within the business community.”
The planning application for a change of use, which Mendip District Council will decide on in the middle of August, involves the regeneration of a dilapidated existing building. If approved the park is set to be completed early next year.
The management team have already signed up a number of firms and are welcoming those who are considering moving or looking at space to get it touch before the building is full.
