The first Bath at Twilight evening, which featured late night shopping, dining and entertainment has been heralded a success, with more people out and about in the city during the event.

Footfall data, collated by the Bath Business Improvement District team, shows that there were 8% more people out and about in the city at the first of the monthly events in June than the previous year and in Union Street there was an 31% increase from the same day in 2017.

The next Bath at Twilight takes place tomorrow, Thursday 19th July, to coincide with the end of the school year.

Shops are staying open later, with many offering special promotions and the popular open-air market returns.

Street entertainment is being provided; including local group Off the Rails as well as children’s face painters.

The focus on young people continues; My Small World, the award-winning independent toy store is holding a summer discount party, with a 10% discount on everything in the store for the one night.

Bath at Twilight is a once a month event, when the streets of Bath come alive with evening entertainment, late-night shopping and dining.

The next events will take place on:

  • Thursday 19th July – School’s out for Summer;
  • Thursday 23rd August – Your Bank Holiday Starts Here;
  • Thursday 27th September – Freshers’ Week;
  • Thursday 25th October – Autumn Food Celebration.
