Planning and listed building consent is being sought for the proposed single-storey extension of the restaurant at Grade II listed Avon House.
The extra floorspace will increase the kitchen area to cater for increased customer demand at the restaurant, which was initially granted consent in 1998.
The rear extension will also provide a dedicated space for couriers to pick up orders. The application says this will streamline the flow of people in the restaurant, leading to a “calmer and more pleasant atmosphere”.
The redevelopment is expected to support 80 on-site construction jobs over a six-week construction period.
The extension will provide new retail space which is expected to accommodate 10 extra full-time equivalent jobs on site.
The planning reference is 25/00817/FUL. The deadline for comments is 7th April.
