To celebrate its third birthday in Bath, Deliveroo, the on-demand food delivery service, is recreating the classic living-room takeaway experience outdoors with an added twist.
From 10am this morning, Wednesday 12th September, in Southgate, Bathonians brave enough to bare a chilly bottom can soak in those final rays of British sun whilst enjoying a delicious free Deliveroo meal in a living-room made entirely out of ice.
Members of public can relax on a frozen sofa, and enjoy food from local Deliveroo favourites including Absurd Bird, Smashburger, Mission Burrito, Krispy Kreme, Ben’s Cookies and Zizzi.
Joe Groves at Deliveroo said: “We all love tucking into a take-away on our couches at home… so what better way to Deliveroo and chill (literally) in those final rays of British sun than on a frozen living room in the middle of Southgate Shopping Centre?
“Come on down with your friends and family and grab some grub before it melts!”
The ice living room will be open between 10am and 5pm.
New data from Deliveroo has revealed that Saturday at 6.13pm is the most popular time for locals to order Deliveroo. Further data has shown locals love Mexican food the most.
The most popular dishes in Bath include:
- Chicken Tinga Burrito from Mission Burrito;
- Cheeseburger from Smashburger;
- Cod & Chips from Pollocks;
- Chicken Katsu Curry from Wagamama;
- Boneless Banquet from KFC.
Since its launch in the city three years ago, more than 70 restaurants have signed up to the on-demand platform.
Deliveroo has created work for more than 80 people, with the majority of these being Deliveroo riders.
Deliveroo supports local businesses in Bath, with 60% percent of its restaurant partners being local independent restaurants, creating new revenue streams for homegrown culinary talent.
