Bath-based housing association and housebuilder Curo has donated 170 chocolate oranges to Bath Open Christmas, to spread some festive cheer at this year’s event.

Bath Open Christmas usually takes place every year on 25th December and welcomes 160 guests for a hot Christmas meal and entertainment in the Dining Hall at Kingswood School.

Caroline Holcombe from Bath Open Christmas said: “Christmas can be a difficult time for many people who find themselves on their own over this festive period.

“Not everyone is lucky enough to have lots of family to spend Christmas with and some feel particularly lonely at this time of the year.

“At Bath Open Christmas we welcome anyone who would otherwise be alone at this time.

“There will be a delicious festive lunch, an opportunity to chat with other people and even gifts from Father Christmas – and we’d like to thank Curo for their donation which I’m sure will help us spread some much-needed joy this year!”

Alongside chocolate oranges, Curo also donated prizes for the raffle which will take place on the day, including a tea service set, a variety of sweets and more chocolate.

Curo Sales Manager, Jodie Winter, added: “We’re delighted to support Bath Open Christmas this year and help them bring a little happiness to so many people.

“Supporting the communities we work in and partnering with organisations whose work benefits local residents is really important for us at Curo.

“We hope everyone has a fantastic time at this year’s Christmas lunch!”

This year’s Bath Open Christmas will be a little different, with measures in place to protect the safety of guests and volunteers.

The venue will be regularly ventilated and everyone attending will need to wear a face-covering and take a lateral flow test in the 24 hours prior to the event.

There are still some places available for the event. Call Bath Open Christmas on 01225 312271 or 07392 974405 to book your free ticket.
