Workplace and interior design consultancy Wylde IA has announced the winner of its Happiest Workplace 2017 competition, the Circle Bath Hospital in Peasedown St John near Bath.

The independent hospital situated just outside Bath received the accolade at an awards ceremony hosted by Hartham Park in Corsham, attended by staff from shortlisted finalists.

Judges of the contest, staged by Bristol-based workplace and interior design consultancy Wylde IA, were impressed and inspired by the ethos, environment and the staff at Circle Bath Hospital.

Maxine Bennett, director of Wylde IA said: “The Happiest Workplace competition is the highlight of our year. This year we’ve attracted a record number of entries from businesses and have been overwhelmed by the quality of workplaces.

“We’ve had to make some tough decisions which hasn’t been easy but Circle Bath Hospital stood out for us – they’ve created a genuinely inspirational workplace.”

It was evident Circle Bath employees are passionate and proud of their work with all staff having a voice and feeling valued whatever their role.

The management style and culture is approachable and open with daily walkarounds by managers. Staff also enjoy many health-related benefits such as access to mental health support, flu jabs and a smoking cessation programme. Yoga, Pilates, HIIT, tai chi and lunchtime walks are also laid on alongside free sports massage as and when needed.

Paul McGaughey, General Manager, Circle Bath Hospital said: “We are delighted to have won this award. Our staff are a fantastic group of people who, through their dedication, skill and positive attitude deliver a fantastic service to our patients.

“We have worked hard on embracing a well-being programme for everyone who works at Circle, offering fun and healthy activities. However, it is the staff here who have created the culture of openness, supportiveness and teamwork which have become so ingrained in the DNA of Circle.

“We are in no way complacent and still have lots to do to ensure staff are as happy as possible and to provide them with a great environment and all the tools to do their job to an outstanding level.”

The awards ceremony was hosted at Hartham Park, a business park and co working space recently refurbished by Wylde IA.  Seating company Boss Design, Carpet manufacturers Milliken, interior products company Vescom and iconic lamp manufacturer Anglepoise; all supported this year’s competition and donated prizes for the winners.

Wylde IA is an award-winning independent interior design consultancy, trading for over 21 years. The company specialises in creative design, working directly with clients throughout the UK and Europe in partnership with external suppliers, architects and fit-out companies creating inspiring places to work, learn, rest and play.
