Boston Tea Party, which operates two cafés in Bath, has revealed that it has saved over 800,000 cups from going to landfill after banning single-use products from its sites.

The company banned the use of single-use coffee cups in June 2018, the first café chain to do so in the UK.
Today is World Refill day, with Boston Tea Party encouraging more people to choose to reuse, when figures show that around 500,000 single-use coffee cups are littered every day.
The company is giving away a total of 1,200 reusable coffee cups, across their 25 cafés thanks to their partners Ecoffee Cup.
48 free reusable cups are being given away in their two cafes in Bath, in Alfred Street and Kingsmead Square.
Boston Tea Party CEO Sam Roberts said: “Our purpose at BTP is Making Things Better and in 2018 we took a bold decision to protect planet over profit by stopping using single use coffee cups.
“4 years on we’re delighted to have saved over 800,000 cups from going to landfill, but the scale of single use cup waste remains huge.
“We’re giving away 1,200 Ecoffee Cups to encourage more people to join us on this mission.”
Boston Tea Party customers can bring any reusable cup, borrow one from the fully refundable cup loan scheme, or buy an Ecoffee Cup in every café.
