Boston Tea Party, the first coffee chain to ban single use coffee cups, is running a competition for one lucky customer to win coffee or tea every day for a whole year, worth over £1,000.
The competition launched on Monday 1st October, to celebrate International Coffee Day.
Sam Roberts, Co-Owner and CEO of BTP said: “We’re launching this competition on International Coffee Day, to treat one of our loyal customers to all of their caffeine needs for a year.
“The winner will be rewarded with an exclusive reusable BTP coffee cup, which will identify them as the BTP VIP.
“With the accolade, the winner can pick up their flat white as a takeaway whilst on the way to work for that caffeine hit first thing, enjoy a tea in the afternoon with friends, or sip a cappuccino over a weekend brunch with the family.”
Since the initiative to ban single use cups came into play on 1st June 2018, BTP has saved over 52,000 disposable coffee cups from going into landfill across its 22 cafés in the Central South, South West and Midlands.
Rather than issue single use coffee cups, BTP now ask customers to bring their own from home, purchase an Ecoffee cup at a reduced rate in a range of colours or to borrow one using the BTP refundable loan scheme for ease.
BTP has two cafés in Bath, the first on Kingsmead Square, and the second situated on Alfred Street.
The competition, which is the first of its kind for BTP, will run through the whole of October. The winner will be picked at random and announced on 1st November 2018.
