Mint at 12A Manvers Street had been run as a charity shop on a voluntary basis by the owner since 2015 but had been open increasing less often before it closed in 2023.
The unit is on the ground floor with flats above and in the basement.
The planning application lodged with Bath & North East Somerset Council said the shop had not operated on a commercial basis for many years.
Included with the application was evidence from three commercial agents who had refused to market the premises as it was not logically viewed as a shop.
At the time the plans were submitted in May, the applicant also noted that the Estates Gazette’s property webpage was recording 47 vacant retail premises in the city and 49 office spaces.
Council planners agreed that the loss of the unit would not have an unacceptable impact on the vitality, viability and diversity of the city centre.
