Guy Hodgson, a 35-year-old from Bath has been selected as a regional finalist in the annual search by Screwfix to find and reward Britain’s Top Tradesperson 2017.
The builder is now one step closer to heading to the national final at Wembley after seeing off competition from tradesmen and women from across the South West.
Eight regional finalists from across the nation will be selected to attend the national final to be in with a chance of winning the coveted national title and recognition, along with a brand new Toyota PROACE or Hilux worth £32k.
But before that, on 27th June, Guy will have to impress judges at the regional final while going head-to-head against other successful candidates.
Guy, who trades under the name HandyGuy, thinks his creativity, customer focused mindset and dedication will help him to stand out from the crowd.
Guy said: “I look forward to competing in the South West regional final. I am passionate about using sustainable materials such as straw and clay and raising their profile across the UK.
“I enjoy using natural materials and the resulting buildings have a really special look and feel to them. I will always give 100% and make sure all my customers are delighted with the work I have completed for them.”
Screwfix Marketing Director, Graham Smith, said: “We have been inundated with entries this year and as always, the standard is outstanding.
“This award is only given to those who demonstrate excellence in their business and dedication to the job. Being selected as a regional finalist highlights the great work that Guy is doing.
“Along with our other finalists, he has demonstrated a passion for the trade, a willingness to go the extra mile and to always leave customers satisfied. It certainly will not be easy to pick this year’s regional winner who will go on to compete at the national final at Wembley.”
Britain’s Top Tradesperson is a nationwide search to find and reward the best builders, helpful handymen, exceptional electricians, perfect plumbers and more that keep Britain’s homes and businesses in tip-top condition.
Guy will take part in the South West heat at the Marsh Barton Screwfix store in Exeter on 27th June, 2017.
To be crowned the regional winner, Guy will take part in a number of tasks to find out if he’s got what it takes to head to the national final of Britain’s Top Tradesperson in July.
