The Bath Business Partnership is hosting its first dinner event at Woods Restaurant in Bath next month with speaker John Glen MP, who was educated at King Edward’s School in the city.
The opening address on Thursday 16th June is being given by Bath MP, Ben Howlett, with the keynote speaker John Glen MP, who is the Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills as well as the MP for Salisbury.
John was educated at King Edward’s School in Bath and has a wealth of business related experience.
As a PPS, John’s role is to act as the link between backbench MPs and the Business Secretary. This includes relaying backbench concerns and policy suggestions to the Minister and coordinating ministerial engagements in constituencies across the country.
The event is being arranged by Leonie Spencer who said: “This is a great opportunity to network with other local businesses and hear first-hand how government policy relates to businesses here in Bath.
“This is the first dinner of its type with more planned later in the year tackling different business topics.”
Bath MP, Ben Howlett said: “I am delighted to be welcoming John back to Bath and hope a wide variety of local business people will come and take the opportunity to network and hear more of how the Government’s plans are improving things for business.
“The dinner is £55 per head for a three course meal, plus coffee and pre-dinner drinks at 6.30pm for a 7pm meal.
