Emily Monk, from the Platinum Accident Repair Centre in Bath, has beaten seven other finalists to win the AutoRaise Apprentice of the Year Award at the 2015 British Bodyshop Awards.

Joined by over 800 guests from the across the accident repair and motor insurance industry, Emily received her award presented by Steve Plunkett, Volvo Body and Paint Programme Development Manager.

The BBC’s Fiona Bruce hosted this year’s awards at the Evolution in the heart of Battersea, London.

Jeremy Cuff, joint Managing Director at Platinum Motor Group commented: “We are absolutely delighted with Emily’s achievement.

“Over the years, the company has always sought to bring on new talent through the appointment of trainees and by offering apprenticeships.

“Emily’s award is a vindication of that approach taken by the company and by Emily’s hard work in her role.”

Emily said: “When I heard them say that I had won the award I was very proud and surprised as I have only been with Platinum ARC for 12 months.

“I hope that I have inspired other girls to start a career in the motor trade.”

Andy Pederick, Group Bodyshop Development Manager added: “We are very proud of Emily’s achievement, we have received good feedback from S&B training since she started her apprenticeship and looking at the standard of her work it is hard to believe that she has only been us for 12 months, Emily has a great future in the motor trade, the smile on her face is infectious.”

“Winning one of the 30 British Bodyshop Awards, presented to the leading companies in the industry, is testament to the high standard of businesses in the car body repair industry and shines a spotlight on those working hard to maintain quality and high levels of customer service.”

Steve Plunkett, Volvo Body & Paint Programme Development Manager, Volvo Car UK said: “I was thrilled to be asked to present the AutoRaise apprentice of the year award to Emily Monk.

“It is absolutely brilliant to see such a strong finalist line up in this category.

“We need more young people coming through the ranks in the industry and I hope that this fine group of young people will be an inspiration to others to join the body repair industry.

“Well done to all the finalists and in particular to Emily for picking up the 2015 award.”
