Application submitted for new Thai restaurant in centre of Bath

A planning application to change the use of a former international groceries shop in the city centre to a restaurant has been submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council.

The property on Monmouth Street

The application relates to 40 Monmouth Street and the applicant is Bangkok Express, a locally-based company which already operates Yum Yum Thai in Bath.

Internal alterations are proposed at the unit, which is currently vacant.

The planning application says: “The proposal is of a design which takes into consideration its immediate context, to create an appropriate solution that respects the locality.”

The planning reference is 25/02264/FUL and the deadline for comments is 23rd October.
